Leningrad to St. Petersburg

The M/S Regatta docked at the Lieutenant Schmidt embankment in St. Petersburg behind the Soviet “project 613″ patrol submarine C-189. Strange to see them beside each other. The C-189 harkening back to the cold war when she would have been docked in Leningrad. There were about 250 of this class submarine built by the Soviet Navy during the 50′s and 60′s. This, it seems is the only survivor in Russia. It is permanently docked at the Lieutenant Schmidt embankment and is supposed to be opening as a museum, however it has been a year since that announcement was made and it still isn’t open.

Regatta in ??

Copenhagen of course, you can’t see the name or logo, so it could be the Royal, or Tahitian, or Quest, or Insignia, or Nautica… but it’s not. It’s Regatta. When in Copenhagen she docks just down the way from the Little Mermaid. I really like these ships. The elegance and style of them is so nice. In a city like this, a massive 3000 passenger glitz ship can, sometimes, look out of place. But these elegant ships seem to fit in, and compliment the scenery.

Block 63

Down the street from Block 4, in Gdansk. I liked this building for the same reasons as Block 4. It was old, a bit cold, but it was VERY clean, cared for, and some resident had made an effort to make his building stand out. This is right next to the gate where the cruise ships dock.

Another street, Kongensgade, in downtown Copenhagen. What an amazing city. So full of colour and lines. Impossible to not be amazed by the sites.

I love Buskers! Amsterdam must be the best place to see them! I look forward to editing many more Amsterdam images. I came across these two just about a block out from Central Station on the way to the Dam ( city centre).
